Baseball Recap: Westminster Christian Academy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Westminster Christian Academy dropped their record down to 11-11 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Brentwood War Eagles, falling 10-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 8-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Westminster Christian Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Grantham, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Grantham has become a key player for the Lions: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 9-10 otherwise. Harris McMullan also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

As for Brentwood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-11. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.7 runs.

On Brentwood's side, Ethan Daniel was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Daniel has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nathan Diaz, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Cooper Smith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Coming up, Westminster Christian Academy will head out to face off against Loganville Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westminster Christian Academy is facing Loganville Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Loganville Christian Academy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Brentwood will be paying especially close attention to the Lions' contest: after the Lions face off against the Lions, they'll take on Brentwood again at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
