Preview: Buena Park Coyotes vs. Fairmont Prep Huskies
The Buena Park Coyotes will square off against the Fairmont Prep Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Buena Park had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They took down the Grizzlies 71-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Buena Park.
Buena Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gloria Barrera, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. Barrera is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Harmon, who scored 19 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
In what's become a running theme this season, Fairmont Prep gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They blew past Rialto 68-45.
Buena Park has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season. As for Fairmont Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 22-8.
