Recap: Elk Grove Thundering Herd vs. Sacramento Adventist Capitals        
        
		
            
 The Elk Grove Thundering Herd's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Monday after their 11th straight loss. They took a  49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sacramento Adventist. The  matchup was a  20-20 toss-up at halftime, but Elk Grove  was outscored by Sacramento Adventist in the second.
 Despite the  defeat, Elk Grove had strong showings from  Nyla Kieu, who  scored 12 points, and  Kaylee Venegas, who  scored 11 points. Kieu continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's  played.
 Elk Grove bumped their record down to 3-13 with that  defeat, which was their fifth straight  on the road. As for Sacramento Adventist, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
 Elk Grove will head out on the road to  challenge  St. Francis at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Hopefully St. Francis focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 14 last Saturday. As for Sacramento Adventist, they will be playing at home against Cristo Rey at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Cristo Rey will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1073rd, while Sacramento Adventist is ranked 489th).
