Football Game Preview: East Poinsett County Warriors vs. Des Arc Eagles

The East Poinsett County Warriors will challenge the Des Arc Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Poinsett County will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

If East Poinsett County beats Des Arc with 40 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Warriors breezed past Lee to the tune of 40-0 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Jacob Gaines produced another solid effort rushing for 122 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Another reason for the win was East Poinsett County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Gaines was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 122 rushing yards. East Poinsett County received some extra help from Zebarious Shepherd, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Des Arc unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 24-14 to Cross County. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

East Poinsett County's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Des Arc, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

East Poinsett County didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Des Arc in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 36-30 victory.
