Basketball Preview: Quincy Trojans vs. Chester Volcanoes
Quincy is 9-1 against the Volcanoes since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Quincy Trojans will be playing at home against the Chester Volcanoes at 5:00 p.m. Quincy will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Quincy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They secured a 45-41 W over Redding Christian.
Quincy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tatum Hughes, who scored 14 points. Shelby Nussle was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Chester suffered a rough 53-33 loss at the hands of the Tigers on Tuesday.
Quincy pushed their record up to 21-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Chester, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Everything came up roses for Quincy against the Volcanoes in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 56-15 victory. Does Quincy have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Volcanoes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
