Softball Recap: Bixby Takes a Loss

Bixby fell victim to Norman North and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timberwolves. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Spartans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Bixby got a good showing from Addison Shannon, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Shannon has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Bixby has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Norman North, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Coming up, Bixby will challenge Putnam City West at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norman North, they will venture away from home to challenge Westmoore at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
