Basketball Game Preview: Hough Huskies vs. Hopewell Titans

Two dominant guards in Judah Freeman and Arael Jones are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Hough Huskies will welcome the Hopewell Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hough has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Hough had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 22-point drubbing they dealt Lake Norman Charter on Wednesday. Everything went Hough's way against Lake Norman Charter as Hough made off with a 67-45 win. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Knights are ranked 337th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hopewell came up short against North Mecklenburg on Tuesday and fell 62-53.

Hough's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for Hopewell, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.

Hough came up short against Hopewell when the teams last played back in January, falling 53-40. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Jones, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards.
