Soccer Recap: Monrovia Comes Up Short

After flying high against San Marino last Wednesday, Monrovia came back down to earth. The Monrovia Wildcats fell just short of the La Canada Spartans by a score of 1-0 on Friday. Considering the last time the Wildcats couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Monrovia's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1-1 and their overall record down to 8-4-3. As for La Canada, they pushed their record up to 12-1-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Monrovia wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 1-0 loss against South Pasadena on the 3rd. As for La Canada, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-0 victory against Blair on the 3rd.
