Baseball Game Preview: Prairie Fighting Hawks vs. Valley Tigers

The Prairie Fighting Hawks will face off against the Valley Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Prairie knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Valley likes a good challenge.

Prairie's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Linn-Mar 10-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Valley narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Ottumwa 5-3. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Valley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Prairie, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Prairie got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Valley by a conclusive 12-6 score. Will the Fighting Hawks repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
