Football Recap: Decatur Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Decatur unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 23-14 to the Wicomico Indians on Friday. The Seahawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Decatur had strong showings from Kyle Mumford, who gained 126 total yards and a touchdown, and Brian Chester, who gained 112 total yards and a touchdown.

Wicomico has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Decatur wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 40-7 win against North Caroline on the 19th. As for Wicomico, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-38 victory against Queen Anne's County on the 22nd.
