Soccer Game Preview: Cate vs. Grace

The Cate Rams and the Grace Lancers will compete for holiday cheer at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cate's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Cate is looking to pick up the season's first win, something they couldn't quite do against Carpinteria on Friday. The Rams and the Warriors finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Grace's offense. They lost 8-0 to Corona del Mar on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Grace can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Corona del Mar are ranked 116th).

With that draw, Cate's record moves to 0-2-1. As for Grace, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Cate came up short against Grace when the teams last played back in January, falling 2-0. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
