Softball Recap: Dawson County Comes Up Short

Dawson County fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Pickens on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 9-7. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Dragons from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Sadie Dotson and Addi Prewitt did some serious damage despite the final result: Dotson went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while Prewitt went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That home run marked the first that Dotson has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelyn Utech, who went 3-for-5 with three runs.

Dawson County's record now sits at 4-2. As for Pickens, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Dawson County will square off against Habersham Central at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pickens, they will be taking part in a tournament against East Coweta at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
