Baseball Preview: Minerva Lions vs. Carrollton Warriors
Minerva hasn't had much luck against Carrollton recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Minerva will be strutting in after a victory while Carrollton will be coming in after a defeat.
Minerva is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Buckeye Local 14-0 on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Lions with their most commanding win of the season.
Braydon Wood was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Minerva is 5-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 7-11 otherwise. Wood was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Minerva got a massive performance out of Kolton Almasy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Almasy is becoming a predictor of the Lions' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-13 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Kandel, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
