Preview: Nature Coast Tech Sharks vs. Mitchell Mustangs
The Nature Coast Tech Sharks and the Mitchell Mustangs will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Nature Coast Tech is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
Nature Coast Tech suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 46-26 walloping at the hands of Springstead. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Nature Coast Tech has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Nature Coast Tech saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Isabella Castillo O, who scored nine points, was perhaps the best of all.
Nature Coast Tech struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Springstead racked up 12 assists.
Meanwhile, Mitchell ended up a good deal behind Wesley Chapel on Friday and lost 58-40.
Nature Coast Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Mitchell, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.
Nature Coast Tech was able to grind out a solid victory over Mitchell in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 44-35. Does Nature Coast Tech have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mitchell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
