Softball Recap: Houston County Gets the Win

It was close, but on Friday the Houston County Bears sidestepped the Harlem Bulldogs for an 8-7 victory.

Houston County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Harlem, they moved to 8-3 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Houston County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-4 loss against Hebron Christian on the 22nd. As for Harlem, they will host Glascock County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.71 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
