Soccer Game Preview: Oakdale vs. Golden Valley

The Oakdale Mustangs and the Golden Valley Cougars will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Oakdale will be strutting in after a win while Golden Valley will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Oakdale turned things around against Manteca on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Buffaloes a 4-0 shutout. Considering the Mustangs' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit Manteca with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ashlyn Splettstoesser, Kaia Cox, Dakota Burford, and Ceci Cotton.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Golden Valley's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Turlock on Wednesday.

Oakdale's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Golden Valley, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
