Soccer Game Preview: Fairfield vs. Burlington

The Fairfield Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Burlington Grayhounds at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfield will be strutting in after a victory while Burlington will be coming in after a defeat.

Fairfield was handed a four-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They skirted past Washington 3-2.

Meanwhile, Burlington didn't have quite enough to beat Fort Madison on Thursday and fell 2-1.

Burlington now has a losing record of 0-1-1. As for Fairfield, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3.

Fairfield beat Burlington by a goal in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
