The Blue Valley North Mustangs will challenge the Leavenworth PIONEERS at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Blue Valley North is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They really took it to Washington for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-18 victory. With the Mustangs ahead 35-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Lark Anderson produced another solid performance throwing for 231 yards and four touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes, and also punching in one TD on the ground. What's more, he racked up 138.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Kayden Augustus also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.
Blue Valley North was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 235 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Blue Valley North's defense stepped up as well, laying out Savion Stone 11 times. Frank Hall refused to say out of the backfield, picking up four sacks all by himself. Blue Valley North got some further help from Hall: he picked up four sacks and made eight total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Leavenworth had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.7 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 31-22.
Blue Valley North better keep an eye on Julian Simon. He was instrumental in Leavenworth's win, rushing for 58 yards and a pair of scores.
Leavenworth didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Pierce Gray and Ja`Marion Jefferson, who each picked up one interception apiece. Another thorn in Pittsburg's side was Tyreck Wyche, who picked up a sack, forced two fumbles, and made two total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Blue Valley North picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-5. As for Leavenworth, their record is now 8-1.
Everything came up roses for Blue Valley North against Leavenworth in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 41-14 victory. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the PIONEERS turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
