Rutland is still undefeated  this season after their  contest against Northeast  on Tuesday, but Northeast came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Rutland Hurricanes came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  a   7-6 W against the Northeast Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Hurricanes have posted  since February 23, 2024.
 Rutland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tate Summerday, who  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.  Kendarious Gilbert also deserves some recognition as  he  brought in his first  RBI of the season.
Rutland's record now sits at 5-0-1. As for Northeast, their defeat was  their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 2-5.
 Looking ahead, Rutland will square off against Howard at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Northeast, they will take on Jefferson County at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
