Basketball Game Preview: Hemet Bulldogs vs. Rancho Verde Mustangs

Hemet is 0-3 against Rancho Verde since December of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Hemet Bulldogs will challenge the Rancho Verde Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Hemet is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season.

In Tuesday's Canine Competition, Hemet prevailed. They claimed a resounding 61-15 win over JW North. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 27 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Ruby Lindsey, who went 10 of 20 on her way to 21 points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Gonzalez- Horta, who posted eight points in addition to 13 boards and four steals.

Hemet smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Rancho Verde earned a 54-44 victory over Elsinore last Monday.

Hemet's record now sits at 13-4. As for Rancho Verde, their record now sits at 10-7.

Hemet came up short against Rancho Verde when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 57-53. Can Hemet avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
