Baseball Recap: Sikeston Takes a Loss

Sikeston was the 1-0 winner over Central when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-2 on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly two runs.

Sikeston has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Central, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 19-16.

As of now, neither Sikeston nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
