Soccer Recap: Atwater Takes a Loss

Atwater came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-0 to the Manteca Buffaloes. While losing is never fun, Atwater can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 616th, while Manteca are ranked 68th).

Atwater now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Manteca, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Atwater didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 7-2 defeat against Lodi on the 13th. As for Manteca, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 4-0 win against Edison on the 13th.
