Basketball Recap: Orcutt Academy Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Orcutt Academy won the last time they faced Morro Bay, and Elizabeth Johnson did her part to make sure it happened again. The Orcutt Academy Spartans snuck past the Morro Bay Pirates with a 55-50 win on Friday thanks in part to Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 18 rebounds. Her evening made it 27 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Orcutt Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Morro Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-10.

Orcutt Academy will take on St. Joseph at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Orcutt Academy comes in on four and St. Joseph on eight. As for Morro Bay, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 68-34 victory against Hanford on the 25th.
