The Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers will face off against the Central York Panthers at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Lampeter-Strasburg put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They blew past J.P. McCaskey 12-1. The Pioneers have beaten the Red Tornado the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Red Tornado has come to flipping the script.
Jake Stahovich looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cooper Hillen, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Cayden See was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Lampeter-Strasburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Central York came up short against Hempfield on Monday and fell 17-14.
Jack Klimchock was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Mahler, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
Lampeter-Strasburg pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Central York, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lampeter-Strasburg has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Central York struggles in that department as they've averaged .486. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lampeter-Strasburg couldn't quite finish off Central York in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can Lampeter-Strasburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
