Soccer Game Preview: Santa Cruz vs. Scotts Valley

The Santa Cruz Cardinals will challenge the Scotts Valley Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

After two halves, Santa Cruz and Soquel settled for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Scotts Valley kept a clean sheet against Harbor on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Pirates out 1-0. The Falcons wouldn't have won without Ella Ireland, who scored the game-winner.

The victory got Scotts Valley back to even at 6-6-4. Santa Cruz's draw gives them a new season record of 4-6-3.

Santa Cruz beat Scotts Valley 2-0 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Santa Cruz repeat their success, or does Scotts Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
