            Basketball Recap: Tulelake Honkers vs. Lost River Raiders        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Big Valley  last Monday, Tulelake came back down to earth. The Tulelake Honkers took  a  56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lost River Raiders on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Honkers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states  (they are ranked 925th in California, while the Raiders are ranked 122nd in Oregon).
 Despite the loss, Tulelake still got an impressive performance from   Makenzie Perez, who  posted 18  points and six  rebounds. That was a full 41.9% of Tulelake's points, marking the third time in a row she's   put up  more than a third of the team's points.  Alejandra Perez was another key player,  putting up six points.
Tulelake's defeat was  their third straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Lost River, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record  this season.
 Tulelake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  64-24  victory against Happy Camp on the 17th. Lost River has also already played their next  game (against Lowell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
