Baseball Recap: Aquinas Comes Up Short

If Aquinas was feeling good fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Baldwin last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Aquinas Fightin' Irish fell just short of the Washington-Wilkes Tigers by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Fightin' Irish have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Greg Doman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Whit Hankinson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Washington-Wilkes, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-7 record.

While Aquinas had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
