Softball Recap: Rampart Takes a Loss

Pueblo West hit Rampart with a nine-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams lost 12-2 to the Cyclones. The Rams have struggled against the Cyclones recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Addison Jensen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and ten unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rampart saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Alvarado, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Rampart's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Pueblo West, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Rampart will head out on the road to square off against Liberty at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
