Baseball Game Preview: Middleborough Sachems vs. Bishop Stang Spartans

Middleborough is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Bishop Stang is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Sachems will host the Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Middleborough's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Bishop Stang's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Middleborough's victory against Rockland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Sachems had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 3-1.

Meanwhile, Bishop Stang earned a 14-11 win over Sandwich on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Amir Cartagena, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Bubba Garcia, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Bishop Stang always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.

Middleborough's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Bishop Stang, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
