Softball Recap: Twiggs Academy Takes a Loss

Twiggs Academy had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-11 to make it five. They fell just short of the Flint River Academy Wildcats by a score of 12-10. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 16-11.

As for Flint River Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since October 8, 2024.

For Flint River Academy's part, they let Lyla Johnson and Zoey Bishop run wild. Johnson got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Bishop went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor Callahan, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Twiggs Academy nor Flint River Academy have any future games scheduled.
