Basketball Recap: Creative Connections Arts Academy Takes a Loss

Creative Connections Arts Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 46-8 loss at the hands of the Leroy Greene Academy Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-15 back in December of 2024.

Leroy Greene Academy found their leader in sophomore Anaya Alston, who posted 27 points. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Alston has scored at least a third of Leroy Greene Academy's points. Emiliana Salazar was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Creative Connections Arts Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Leroy Greene Academy, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Creative Connections Arts Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Westlake Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westlake Charter's defense has only allowed 20.4 points per game this season, so Creative Connections Arts Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Leroy Greene Academy, they will take on Destiny Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Leroy Greene Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
