Basketball Game Preview: Apostles Lutheran Falcons vs. Latino College Preparatory Academy Golden Eagles

The Apostles Lutheran Falcons and the Latino College Preparatory Academy Golden Eagles will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Apostles Lutheran has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Apostles Lutheran is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 32-23 win over Mid-Peninsula on Monday.

Emily Zimmerman was nothing short of spectacular: she dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game. Yoony Kwak was another key player, putting up six points along with six boards and five steals.

Apostles Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Latino College Preparatory Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 54-11 defeat at the hands of San Francisco Waldorf. The matchup marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Latino College Preparatory Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Apostles Lutheran, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Apostles Lutheran suffered a grim 29-3 defeat to Latino College Preparatory Academy when the teams last played back in January. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
