Baseball Recap: Chapel Hill Comes Up Short

Chapel Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to the Carrollton Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 last Tuesday.

Chapel Hill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Phillip Ackerman, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. The Panthers are 5-1 when Ackerman posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-16 otherwise.

Chapel Hill's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Carrollton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-9.

While Chapel Hill had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:55 p.m. on Friday.
