Eureka had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt St. Dominic on Monday. The Wildcats blew past the Crusaders 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Paige Deakin looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Niles, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Gracie Mazzola was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one home run.

Eureka kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.

Eureka has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for St. Dominic, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-8 record.

As of now, neither Eureka nor the Crusaders have any future games scheduled.
