Baseball Recap: Ridgeland Sets Scoring Season-High Against Murray County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ridgeland). They put the hurt on the Murray County Indians with a sharp 19-8 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Ronnie Franklin was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Koltin Webb, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Ridgeland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Ridgeland's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Murray County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeland will head out to challenge Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something Ridgeland will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Murray County, they will face off against Trion at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
