Tate Summerday made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over 6.2 innings pitched. Rutland is 2-0-1 when Summerday posts eight or more strikeouts, but 6-13 otherwise. Summerday was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Summerday wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Howard, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
