Basketball Game Preview: Purchase Line Red Dragons vs. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy WolfPack

The Purchase Line Red Dragons will head out on the road to take on the Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy WolfPack at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Purchase Line easily dispatched Moshannon Valley last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Purchase Line fell just short of West Shamokin by a score of 52-50 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Red Dragons have suffered since December 4, 2024.

Meanwhile, Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.2 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Monday. They blew past the Blackhawks 70-40. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-17.

Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy pushed their record up to 20-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.5 points over those games. As for Purchase Line, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

Purchase Line was able to grind out a solid victory over Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, winning 51-41.
