Baseball Recap: Lanier Comes Up Short

Lanier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 13-1 to the Chattahoochee Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Monday.

Lanier saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicholas Sampona, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lanier's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Chattahoochee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

While Lanier had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
