Baseball Recap: Calvary Day Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lee County last Saturday, Calvary Day came back down to earth. The Calvary Day Cavaliers fell just short of the Lovett Lions by a score of 4-3 on Monday.

Dalton Kelley was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Calvary Day's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Lovett, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Day will challenge Effingham County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Effingham County will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Calvary Day surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lovett, they will square off against Savannah Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Lovett has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
