Football Recap: Moose Lake/Willow River Piles Up the Points Against Hinckley-Finlayson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moose Lake/Willow River). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-7 win over the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars. The victory continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won six in a row.

Moose Lake/Willow River's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Parker Samarzia, who rushed for 111 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. Brayden Strand was another key rusher, gaining 103 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Moose Lake/Willow River was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Moose Lake/Willow River's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Hinckley-Finlayson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
