Football Recap: Christ Prep Academy Piles Up the Points Against West Platte

Christ Prep Academy got themselves on the board against West Platte on Saturday, but West Platte never followed suit. They blew past the Bluejays 41-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Patriots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 82nd in Kansas, while the Bluejays are ranked 240th in Missouri).

Justice Criniere was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 112 yards and one TD on only 11 carries, and also threw for 118 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Those 112 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Timothy Edwards was another key player, rushing for 75 yards and one score.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Christ Prep Academy's defense and their three sacks. Daniel Savenok was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Christ Prep Academy pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Christ Prep Academy will venture away from home to take on Penney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Platte, they will host Crest Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
