Basketball Game Preview: Maranatha Minutemen vs. Corona Panthers

The Maranatha Minutemen will face off against the Corona Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Maranatha will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Heritage Christian, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Maranatha walked away with a 52-40 win over Heritage Christian on Friday.

Meanwhile, Corona had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Norco 54-15 on Wednesday. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Corona found their leader in freshman Alex Flores, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Flores has scored all season. Ava Liaga was another key player, putting up two points in addition to seven assists, seven boards, and four steals.

Corona's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Maranatha, their win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-15.
