The Poly Bears will take on the California School for the Deaf-Riverside Cubs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Poly is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.

Poly is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering King just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 46-39 to the Wolves. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Wolves are ranked 30th).

Despite the loss, Poly saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyssa Mitchell posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Murray, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, California School for the Deaf-Riverside put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to La Sierra Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-8 win. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.

Poly's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for California School for the Deaf-Riverside, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
