Football Recap: Atkinson County Piles Up the Points Against Calhoun County

Atkinson County won the last time they faced Calhoun County and things went their way on Friday too. The Rebels blew past the Cougars 55-20. Considering the Rebels have won six games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Darrian Roberts, who rushed for 207 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Another big playmaker for Atkinson County was Jadarien Davis, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

The win (which was Atkinson County's fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points over those games. As for Calhoun County, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coming up, Atkinson County will welcome Hilliard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will be up against the Red Flashes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.44 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Calhoun County, they are taking a road trip to square off against Baconton Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
