Basketball Recap: Beaumont Takes a Loss

After soaring to 74 points the game before, Beaumont was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were dealt a 92-22 defeat at the hands of the Moreno Valley Vikings. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 64-15.

Moreno Valley was led to victory by Bella Medina and Leiayjah Mills. Medina went 5 of 11 en route to 16 points along with six assists and four steals, while Mills went 7 for 10 on her way to 19 points. Another player making a difference was Natacia Evans-Richard, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 10 points.

Beaumont's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Moreno Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaumont will challenge Redlands at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaumont is facing Redlands at the right time seeing as Redlands is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Moreno Valley, they will face off against Rancho Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Moreno Valley has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 252 points over their last three contests.
