Baseball Recap: Westland Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

With a playoff win on the line, Westland rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Olentangy Berlin Bears. The victory was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Linus Minster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Westland's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-1-1 (and 3-17 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Kaden Winters was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Reece McKenzie also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Westland's win bumped their record up to 7-18-1. As for Olentangy Berlin, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-6.

As of now, neither Westland nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
