Baseball Recap: South Gwinnett Comes Up Short

South Gwinnett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They fell 8-5 to the Rockdale County Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Comets of the 16-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

CJ Peoples made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February.

South Gwinnett's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Rockdale County, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.

While South Gwinnett had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
