Baseball Recap: Stephenson Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Stephenson put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Cedar Grove. Stephenson didn't even let Cedar Grove on the board, marking Stephenson's second-straight 15-0 shutout. Considering the Jaguars have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Miles Allen made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Allen was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Stephenson's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blakelon McClammy, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Romando Craddock was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Stephenson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cedar Grove only posted an OBP of .273.

The victory was the third in a row for Stephenson, bringing their record up to 9-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Cedar Grove, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
