Baseball Recap: Larkin Takes a Loss

Larkin extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 9-16. They came up short against the West Aurora Blackhawks, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blackhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Monday.

As for West Aurora, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-9. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by seven runs or more this season.

For West Aurora's part, not much got past Tyler Fecht, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Larkin off the board. Fecht has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Zach Toma was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Oscar Alexander Jr., who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Larkin will welcome Riverside-Brookfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Aurora, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glenbard East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
