Soccer Game Preview: Ontario Christian vs. Western Christian

The Ontario Christian Knights will challenge the Western Christian Fighting Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ontario Christian comes in on eight and Western Christian on three.

Ontario Christian's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Woodcrest Christian 6-0. Considering the Knights have won 11 contests by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Woodcrest Christian with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Faith Gaudy (2), Carley Mouw (2), Paige Mouw, and Chloe Konan.

Meanwhile, Western Christian beat The Webb Schools 6-4 on Thursday. Given the Fighting Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Gauls are ranked 595th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Western Christian has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 47 goals over those 12 matches. As for Ontario Christian, they pushed their record up to 19-2-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Ontario Christian suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Western Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Ontario Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
